Richard Gillette

September 21, 1946 — June 18, 2010

OXFORD - Richard F. Gillette, 63, of Henry Marsh Rd., passed away at home on June 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Charlene G. (Stiner) Gillette; two children, Jeffrey D. Gillette and his wife Angela of Webster, and Adam R. Gillette of Oxford; a brother, John Gillette of New York; a sister, Bonnie Foley of New York; two grandchildren, Kira and Benjamin; his mother-in-law, Rose Stiner of Monroe, CT; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. He was born in Henrietta, NY, the son of the late Avery E. and Mary (Meister) Gillette, and lived in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Mendon, and Douglas, before moving to Oxford 5 years ago. He graduated from Rush Henrietta High School and R.B.I. in Rochester, NY. Mr. Gillette worked in the appliance department at Home Depot in Oxford. Previously, he worked at Kodak for 36 years. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford. Mr. Gillette fixed computers through is company, X-Pert Computer Services, and volunteered for 3 years at the Oxford Senior Center teaching computers to the seniors. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and was a great family man who loved spending time with his family. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 22, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. After cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
