CHARLTON – Raymond P. Butler, 82, of Ramshorn Road, died Monday, June 12, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marlene (Mitchell) Butler of Charlton; three children, David Butler and his partner Kim Summers of Webster, Cindy Gaucher and her husband Dean of Oxford, and Laurie Carlson and her husband Curt of Worcester; three brothers, Donald Butler of Medford, OR, Eugene Butler of New Mexico, and Gerald Butler of Webster; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Martensen; and a brother, William Butler. He was born in Oxford, son of the late Hermos Butler and Germaine (Robidoux) Butler Wheeler, and lived in Oxford before moving to Charlton in 1985.
Mr. Butler was a foreman at R.H. White Construction Company in Auburn for 20 years, retiring in 1979. He enjoyed going to the Charlton Senior Center, fishing, camping, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at Westridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Thursday, June 15, 2017, from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlton Senior Center, 37 Main St., Charlton, MA 01507, or to the Charlton Fire Department, PO Box 114, Charlton City, MA 01508.
