OXFORD - Raymond P. Aubin Sr., 78, of 234 Old Webster Road, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, in his home after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Marcella A. (Dexter) Aubin of Oxford; eleven children, Raymond Aubin Jr. and his wife Sandra of Adams, MA; Alfred Aubin Sr. and his wife Debbie of Ware, Eugene Aubin Sr. and his wife Sharon of Brookfield, Stephen Aubin Sr. and his wife Linda of Spencer, Brenda Jette and her husband Clifford Jette Sr. of Florida, Paul Aubin Sr. and his wife Rachelle of CT, Robert Aubin of Dudley, Cynthia Nolan and her husband Thomas of Arizona, Kristen Aubin of Oxford, Richard Vallee Jr. and his wife Tina of Worcester, and Nicholas Aubin of Oxford; a brother, Joseph Aubin Sr. of Leominster; five sisters, Grace Mowry of Whitinsville, Jean Savistano of Millbury, June McLeod of Worcester, Rita Anderson of Worcester, and Ann Richardson of Worcester; 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter Cynthia Chenier-Aubin, and many nephews and nieces, including Joseph Brown Jr. and Wayne Coran, who helped in caring for him. He was predeceased by his first wife of 35 years, Bette L. (Carlson) Aubin, who died in 1985; a daughter, Cheryl Aubin of Worcester; three brothers, Richard Aubin, Alfred Aubin, and Ernest Aubin; and four sisters, Bertha Trottier, Beatrice Provencher, Dorothy Siagh, and Geneva Aubin. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Samuel and Mildred (Hastings) Aubin, and was raised in Worcester and lived in Brookfield before moving to Oxford 16 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Aubin was a foreman at Bates Shoe Co. in Webster for 24 years, retiring in 1988. Previously he was a foreman at Brown Shoe Co. in Worcester and also owned and operated Ray's Restaurant in Charlton and Spencer. Mr. Aubin was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton, and was a member and past president of the Liberty Club. He loved coin collecting, and his greatest joy was his family. The Aubin family would like to thank Overlook Hospice in Charlton for their exceptional care, and give special thanks to Penny and Dorian. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on MONDAY, November 3, 2008, at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton, with military honors to follow. Burial will be private at Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours will be SATURDAY, November 1, 2008, from 2-5 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overlook VNA and Hospice Services, MHS Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Charlton, MA 01507.
