OXFORD - Ralph E. White, 69, of Old Southbridge Road, died peacefully on July 20, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his son, Mark R. White of Oxford; his brother, James P. White of Oxford; and his dog, Tyson. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Frances D. (Germain) White of Oxford, who died in 2000; and his brother, Robert White. He was born in Webster, the son of the late Earl and Eva (Plante) White, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School. Mr. White was a blade maker at Lodding Engineering in Auburn for 15 years, retiring in 1991. Previously he owned and operated Ralph's Barber Shop in Oxford for 20 years. He was involved in Oxford sports and was instrumental in starting the Alan Craig Hockey School in Auburn. He was involved in Oxford Youth Hockey and played in the Oxford Men's Softball League. He enjoyed working on ceramics with his wife, Frances. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at North Cemetery, Main Street, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Little League, P.O. Box 112, Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting with arrangements.
