OXFORD – Putnam H. Allard, 69, of Sutton Avenue, died Monday, January 18, 2016, in his home. He is survived by two daughters, Amanda H. Allard of Charlton and Jenna L. Allard of Oxford; his step daughter, Alicia S. Galvan of Auburn; three grandchildren, Ethan Donnelly, Marlena Galvan, and Aiden Galvan; and his mother-in-law, Alice Hannon of Auburn. He was born in Washington, DC, son of the late Howard F. and Aubrey B. (Babcock) Allard, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He received his associate’s degree from Quinsigamond Community College in Computer Maintenance Technology, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Allard was a foreman at LaMountain Brothers in Oxford for 12 years, retiring in 2014. Previously, he worked for Z.B.D. Contractors in Tampa, FL. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. Mr. Allard was a lifelong carpenter and skilled craftsman who enjoyed woodworking. He was a master chef for private functions and was an avid reader. He enjoyed spending the past several winters in Florida, and was loved by his many friends and co-workers.
Memorial calling hours are Friday, February 5, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford.
