Proctor Foote

OXFORD - Proctor B. "PB" Foote, 91, of Depot Road, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice M. (Johnson) Foote of Oxford; four children, Andrew Foote and his wife Susan of Oxford, Matthew Foote and his wife Linda of Oxford, John Foote and his longtime companion Barbara Mingolla of Quinebaug, and Amy Clouthier and her husband James of Oxford; a brother, Hamilton Foote of Woodstock; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two children, Timothy P. Foote and his infant daughter, Melanie Foote. He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Lawrence K. and Olive L. (Russell) Foote, and lived in Woodstock and Leicester before moving to Oxford in 1954. He graduated from Woodstock Academy and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Foote owned and operated P.B. Foote and Sons Service Station in Oxford for 20 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed working on the family farm and was a lifelong gentleman farmer. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Oxford and a member of the Oxford Lodge of Masons. He loved animals, music, playing the piano, and especially enjoyed reading and reciting poetry. A private memorial service will be held at Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date at Elmvale Cemetery in Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 585, Oxford, MA 01540.
