Phyllis Thomas

OXFORD - Phyllis M. (Landry) Thomas, 80, of West Court, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Autumn Village in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, Charles F. Thomas died in 1993; and her first husband of 6 years, Ronald J. Hess died in 1960. She is survived by five children, Therese Marie Babraitis and her husband Paul of Florida, Karen Barbato of Charlton, Stephen Hess and his wife Jane of Connecticut, Kimberly Chagnon and her husband Mark of Quincy, and Emily Thomas of Oxford; a brother, Richard F. Landry and his wife Nancy of Southport, NC; eight grandchildren, Jared, Jeremy, Jacob, Michael, Jaclyn, Kyle, Cameron, and Ethan; eight great grandchildren, Austin, Clayton, Alexa, Samantha, Michael, Maxine, Isaiah, and Briana; as well as relatives in New Hampshire and Illinois, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Theodore E. Landry Jr. who died in 1986. She was born in Manchester, NH, the daughter of the late Theodore E. and Frances (Evirs) Landry, and lived in New Hampshire, Hawaii, Illinois, North Adams, and Worcester, before moving to Oxford several years ago. Mrs. Thomas was a secretary for many years. She retired from Anastasi and Roy Law Office in Oxford in 1990. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Mrs. Thomas taught C.C.D. for over 30 years and was certified by Bishop Flanagan in Worcester. She taught at St. Christopher's Church in Worcester, St. Bernadette's Church in Northboro, and St. Roch's Church in Oxford. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
