Phyllis Knowles

WORCESTER - Phyllis E. (Paul) Knowles, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She is survived by her son, Roger D. Townsend and his wife Eve of Corinth, NY; her brother, Arthur F. Paul of Woodstock, CT; three grandchildren, Ann Higgs, Theresa Petray, and Benjamin Townsend; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Theodore Paul Jr. and Walter R. Paul. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Theodore and Florence R. (Daoust) Paul Sr., and lived in Worcester, Auburn, Oxford, and Corinth, NY. Mrs. Knowles was a nurse's aide at various area hospitals and nursing homes for several years, and she enjoyed making ceramics. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the American Legion, 227 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 58, 227 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to a veteran's organization of your choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting with the arrangements.
