AUBURN - Philip Bruno Mondor, 77, of Warren Road, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, while at home with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley J. (Nilsson) Mondor; eight children, Dennis Mondor and his wife Ellie, Leo Mondor and his wife Denise, Normand Mondor and his wife Michelle, Dianne Mondor, James Mondor and his wife Dianne, Jeffrey Mondor, Valmore Mondor and his wife Donna, and Suzanne Litchfield and her husband Jason; his sister, Theresa Martin; eight grandchildren, Megan, Jesse, Kevin, Tarsha, Mandi, Leo, Katelynn, and Crystal; a great grandson, Kyle; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Mondor. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Leo O. and Germaine (Melanson) Mondor. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran of the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. Mr. Mondor was a driver for the W.R.T.A. in Worcester for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, and Harley Davidson motorcycles for over 40 years. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandson. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at St. Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn for immediate family members only. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Road, PO Box 1000, Charlton, Massachusetts 01507. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is assisting with arrangements.
