OXFORD - Pauline Rose Emily (Piper) Carroll, 89, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Radius Healthcare in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Francis E. Carroll of Oxford, who died in 2003. She is survived by a son, Thomas F. Carroll of Oxford; two daughters, Nancy J. LeFebvre of Oxford and Janet F. Hebert of Dudley; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, William Piper of Orange; and a sister, Emily E. Plummer of Oxford. She was born in Claremont, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Frederick and Edith J. (Shorrock) Piper, and lived in Claremont, NH, and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1943. She graduated from Commerce High School in Oxford in 1938. Mrs. Carroll was a member of the First Congregational Church in Oxford, and was a member of the Woman's Fellowship at the church. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 58 and the Senior Center, both in Oxford. Mrs. Carroll was a member of the Whatsoever Club in Oxford. She was named Senior Citizen of the Year in 1970, was a flea market vendor over the years, and enjoyed arts and crafts A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 29, 2010, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial calling hour will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 12 noon on Monday prior to the service. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford.
