NORTH OXFORD / JACKSONVILLE, NC – Paul N. "Butchie" Panczyk, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC. He is survived by his wife, Helida M. (Medeiros) Panczyk of Jacksonville, NC; three brothers, Robert W. Panczyk of Webster, Steven A. Panczyk of Palm Coast, FL, and Richard J. Panczyk of Vero Beach, FL; two sisters, Joyce F. Panczyk of North Oxford and Nancy J. Petrunia of Chicopee; a close cousin, Susan Vecchio of Millbury; and a close friend, Alfred Saad of Thompson, CT. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter F. Panczyk, Jr., who died in 1962. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Walter F. and Gwendolyn G. (Jefferson) Panczyk. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Panczyk worked as an auto mechanic at Defense Support Systems (DS2) for 8 months. Previously, he was self-employed doing construction in the Worcester area for many years. He loved to fish, enjoyed going to the firing range, and loved hunting. A military graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2007, at St. Roch's Cemetery, Federal Hill Road, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 2-6 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
