CHARLTON - Paul E. Daoust, 71, of Richardson Corner Road, died peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2012, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly (Stone) Cooper Daoust of Charlton; three children, Christopher Daoust and his wife Maureen of Auburn, and their children Matthew and Patrick, Michael Daoust and his wife Tove of Bonaire, GA, and their children Turi and Danielle, and Aimee Goddard and her husband Bill of Leicester, and their son Timothy; two step children, Thomas Cooper and his wife Cynthia of Hollis, NH, and their children Benjamin and William, and Tammy Jo Cooper of Oxford; a brother, Rene Daoust and his wife Gail of Leicester; a sister, Denise Griney and her husband Steve of Gaithersburg, MD; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Richard. He was born in Ware, the son of the late Rene and Rena (DeLongchamp) Daoust, and lived in Spencer before moving to Charlton 37 years ago. He graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer in 1959, and New England School of Accounting in 1961. Mr. Daoust owned and operated Paul E. Daoust and Company in Charlton until 2010. He was a certified public accountant for 53 years. He was a member of the Federated Church of Charlton and served on many committees at the church over the years. Paul was a member of the Charlton Finance Committee for 20 years and previously taught taxation at Nichols College in Dudley. He was a board member of the Charlton Helping People In Need (CHIP IN) food bank in Charlton for many years. Paul and his wife ran in the ½ marathon at Walt Disney World in Florida several years ago, where they raised $25,000 for the American Stroke Association. He enjoyed classic car shows, was an avid golfer, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Federated Church of Charlton, 64 Main St., Charlton. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CHIP IN, 37 Main St., Charlton, MA 01507.
