OXFORD – Patrick J. McGeary, 72, of Wheelock Street, died Monday, December 11, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by a brother, David J. McGeary of Webster; a sister, Lori Urella and her husband Wayne of Webster; a sister-in-law, Anna McGeary of Florida; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael J. McGeary; and three sisters, Carol A. Bishop, Catherine T. McGeary, and Linda M. Marcotte. He was born in Webster, son of the late William J. and Rita F. (Caplette) McGeary, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1969.
Mr. McGeary worked at ProSource Distribution in Oxford for five years prior to retirement. Previously, he worked for Acorn Graphics in Worcester for 20 years. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing softball. He enjoyed going to the casino and was an avid Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours are Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm at the conclusion of calling hours. A private burial will be at St. Roch’s Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
