Patricia Mercier

OXFORD – Patricia “Patty” A. (Cleveland) Mercier, 69, of Marshall Street, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Care One at Millbury after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard G. Mercier of Oxford; her son, Leonard R. Mercier of Dudley; her granddaughter, Brianna I. Mercier of Worcester; her brother, Joseph Binkowski of Plantsville, CT; two sisters, Sandra Binkowski of Plantsville, CT, and April Treiber and her husband Grant of Florida; her uncles and aunts, Joseph and Dorothy Ercolani of Southington, CT, Anthony Cannatelli of Southington, CT, and Maryann Cleveland of Plantsville, CT; two nieces, Jennifer Treiber of Florida and Heather Mitchell and her husband Joseph of South Carolina; her great nephew, Joseph Mitchell Jr. of South Carolina; many cousins; her special friends, Ed and Lois Bazar; and her special sister-in-law, Betty LeFort. She was born in Meriden, CT, daughter of the late Stanley and Rebecca (Cleveland) Binkowski, and lived in Oxford since 1970. She graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden, CT.

Mrs. Mercier worked at Reliant Medical Group in Worcester for 25 years, retiring in 2011. Previously, she worked at the Thom McCann Warehouse in Auburn and Valtec Company in West Boylston. She was a member of the Mad Hatters in Oxford. She enjoyed growing flowers and love to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter Brianna.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Care One at Millbury for their exceptional care they gave Patty during her illness.

A memorial calling hour will be Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 10-11 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the conclusion of the calling hour. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
