OXFORD - Patricia M. (McCarthy) Mahota, 56, of Wheelock Street, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 11 years, Herbert C. Mahota, Jr. who died in 2003. She is survived by her parents, Don and Ann M. (Desy) DeFeudis of Webster; two sisters, Cheryl A. Hetherman and her husband James of Webster, and Mary Beth White of Oxford; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was born in Webster on March 5, 1957, and lived most of her life in Oxford. She graduated from Bay Path High School in Charlton in 1978. Mrs. Mahota worked at the Fair in Worcester for 8 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Patty enjoyed bowling and loved to play bingo. She participated in many activities with the seniors at Huguenot Arms and the Senior Center in Oxford. She was an active member of the community who loved to be around people. She will be greatly missed by the many friends she had in Oxford. A funeral will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
