SOUTHBRIDGE - Patricia S. (Smith) Hogan, 80, of Worcester St., died peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George V. Hogan of Southbridge; four children, Elisabeth G. Hogan of Holyoke, George V. Hogan Jr. and his wife Nandita of Westport, CT, William T.B. Hogan, and David C.M. Hogan and his wife Erica of New York, NY; and three grandchildren, Lillian, Matthew, and Christopher. She was born in Greenville, IL, the daughter of the late Kenneth S. and Ozelma S. (Rixman) Smith, and lived in University City, MO, and Bow, NH, before moving to Southbridge two years ago. She graduated from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. Mrs. Hogan was a primary school teacher for several years in the U.S. and England, and became a homemaker in 1961. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Oxford and served in the Altar Guild at several churches in the different areas where she lived. While living in Missouri, she volunteered at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date in Illinois. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to a charity of one's choice. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
