AUBURN - Norman S. Porter, III, 37, of Hampton Street, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife, Christine L. Hilton-Porter of Auburn; his daughter, Genevieve L. Porter of Auburn; his mother, Sharon A. Leonard and her husband Dennis of Holden; his father, Norman S. Porter Jr. of Oxford; his brother, Keith B. Porter and his wife Stephanie of Webster; his maternal grandmother, Nancy A. Neault of Oxford; his paternal grandmother, Eva M. Porter of Oxford; several nephews and nieces, including Conner and Joey Porter; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was born in Worcester, and lived in Oxford for many years before moving to Auburn 13 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1994. Mr. Porter owned and operated Porter's Garage and Speed in Worcester and Auburn for over 10 years. He was a master mechanic, and his specialty was building hot-rods and high-performance cars. As a matter of fact, he met his wife at Limerock Raceway in CT. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 22, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service and time of remembrance will conclude the calling hours at 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norman Porter Memorial Fund for the benefit of his daughter, c/o Southbridge Savings Bank, 64 Leicester St., North Oxford, MA 01537.
