OXFORD- Norma J. Murray, 87, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Life Care Center of Auburn, after a short illness, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenwood Murray who died in 1999; and her daughter Glenelle Walsh who died in 2009. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert Benjamin and Robert Dusty.
She is survived by her son Terry Murray and his wife Barbara, of Worcester; her son Daniel Murray and his wife Debra Sullivan, of Southport, North Carolina; two sisters, Judith Mancini and her husband Paul, of Maui, Hawaii and Florence Dusty of Castle Rock, Colorado; two brothers George Dusty and his wife Jean of Boynton Beach, FL, and James Dusty and wife Karen of North Brookfield; and her son-in law, Thomas Walsh of Oxford. She leaves 7 grandchildren, Jenny Murray of Worcester, Michelle Murray-Chaves of Hudson, Erin Murray of Worcester, David Murray and his wife Tessa of Sutton, Julie Murray-Curry and her husband Patrick of Rochester, New Hampshire; Jessi Walsh of Worcester, and Kelly Walsh of Douglas. She also leaves 7 great-grandchildren; Roman, Trisha, Michael, Kaleigh, Joseph, Andrew and Lydia.
She was born in Madison Maine, daughter of George Benjamin and Florence Dusty. She graduated from Madison High School. She worked many years in Howard Johnson Restaurants and Periwinkles in Auburn.
She never forgot her roots in Maine and she spent many happy moments at "camp" with lifelong friends and relatives, including Dana and Betty and especially "Thelma", whenever possible. She was fascinated with loons and their haunting calls. Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A calling hour will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
