Michael Marino

OXFORD - Michael George Marino, 60, passed away on February 11, 2015 after a valiant struggle with cancer. He leaves his loving and devoted wife, Tricia (Ethier) Marino of Oxford; two sons, Eric and his partner, Kayla Savoie of Oxford; Maxx of North Grosvenordale, CT; three step daughters, Regina Mandella of Oxford; Stephanie Forrester and her husband, Greg of Webster; Kristina Mandella of Spencer; one step son, Joseph Mandella and his wife, Sarah of Cherry Valley; one brother, Edward and his wife, Theresa of Quincy; two sisters, Patricia Mayo and her husband, Tony of Oxford; and Susan Marino-Zaczek of Auburn. He also leaves six grandchildren: Dominic and Audrianna Marino, Logan and Ryder Mandella, Chloe Antonioli, and Olivia Forrester, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Marino and his mother, Lucille (Remillard) Marino. Michael was born on August 11, 1954 and spent most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School and Worcester State College. Michael was a salesman for many years, most recently as the Outside Sales Manager for Nine Fasteners in Hopkinton. As a young man, Michael was an exceptional athlete. He was a member of the 1967 Oxford All Star Little League team that went to the state finals. He played baseball, basketball, and football. He was a sports enthusiast and had an extensive knowledge of sports trivia. Michael will be remembered for his incredible intelligence, his ironic sense of humor, his dedication and love for his family, and his gratitude and affection for the Primary Purpose Group of Oxford and Daybreaker Group of Charlton. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Calling hours will be on Monday, February 16, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Michael Pecha Cancer Fund, 68 Berube Circle, Wells, ME 04090 or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
