PORT ISABEL, TX – Michael C. Goff, 72, of Port Isabel, TX, and formerly of Oxford, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in his home. He is survived by three brothers, Edward F. Goff and his wife Janet of Spencer, Albert W. Goff II and his wife Marsha of Brookfield, and William R. Goff and his wife Edie of St. Johnsbury, VT; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Janis McManus and a brother David Goff.
He was born in Providence, RI, son of the late Edward W. and Helen T. (Horsky) Goff, and lived most of his life in Florida and Texas. He graduated from Oxford High School.
Mr. Goff was a painting supervisor in Florida for many years, supervising highway painting from Georgia through Florida. He loved music and played in the “Section 5” band while in high school. He was also a pitcher for men’s softball in Oxford, and was a guitar collector throughout his life. He will be remembered as a very likable person who had many friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
