OXFORD - Michael Anthony Finizza, Jr., 66, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Donna M. (Watt) Finizza of Oxford; two sons, Michael A. Finizza III and his wife Heidi of Charlton, and Todd C. Finizza and his wife Kelly of Oxford; four grandchildren, Zachary Finizza, Cole Finizza, Sofia Finizza, and Evan Finizza; his mother- and father-in-law, Arthur C. and Viola Watt of Auburn; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Senior of Eastham, and James Watt and his wife Annie of Missouri; a niece, Gina Kelly of Shrewsbury, a nephew, Shawn Senior of Shrewsbury; and many more nieces and nephews across the country. He was predeceased by his mother, Marie (Manzelli) Finizza; his father, Michael A. Finizza Sr; his sister, Linda (Finizza) Senior; and his brother-in-law, Arthur C. Watt II. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Michael A. and Maria (Manzelli) Finizza, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 43 years ago. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps reserves for 6 years.
Mike was a factory manager at Jamesbury/Metso Automation in Shrewsbury. He worked there for over 35 years, retiring in 2015. Previously, he worked with his father as a brick mason. He loved to golf and was a member of Quinnatisset Country Club in Thompson, CT. He enjoyed bowling and softball in his younger years and was a fan of the New England Patriots. He loved playing fantasy football and camping. He coached his sons’ teams when they were younger, and loved attending sporting events and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dad/Pa was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Dad always went out of his way to help anyone who needed it. He will be truly missed. We love you Pa . . .
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
