Matthew Nugent

SOUTHBRIDGE – Matthew T. Nugent, 35, of Pine Street, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Brockton Hospital.  He is survived by his girlfriend, Katie L. Dickson and her son Alexander Dickson of Southbridge; his brother, Michael Nugent of Ashford, CT, a close friend who was like a mother to him, Kerri Gibeault of Southbridge; and many friends.  He was born in Springfield, son of the late William E. and Susan A. (Warren) Nugent, and live most of his life in Southbridge.  He attended Southbridge High School.

Mr. Nugent owned and operated Harvest Dreams in Southbridge for several years.  He was an advocate for medical and recreational marijuana.  He enjoyed custom glass design, artwork, and the outdoors.  He loved animals, especially his beloved dog Roxanne.

Matthew was a powerful example for many through recovery.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at St. Mary’s Church, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
