WEBSTER / NORTH ATTLEBORO - Matthew J. Beland, 29, died with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a short battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma 2B. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Ashleigh F. (Larson) Beland of N. Attleboro; his son, Paxton A. Beland of N. Attleboro; his father, Eric J. Beland and his wife Aikaterina of Webster; his mother, Deneen M. Azzolino and his stepfather Mark Azzolino of Brooklyn, CT; four sisters, Amanda J. Beland and her fiancé Edward Zottarelli of Plainfield, CT, Isabella Azzolino and Lilianna Azzolino, both of Brooklyn, CT; and Georgia Sgouritsas-Beland of Webster; his grandfather, Alfred E. Beland of Webster; his grandmother, Diane M. Sundstrom of Exeter, NH; his father-in-law, Ricky Larson and his wife Lisa of N. Attleboro; his mother-in-law, Denise Larson of N. Attleboro; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was born in Webster, and lived in Webster and Tampa, Florida, before moving to N. Attleboro 2 years ago. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 2002 and Southwest Florida College in 2006. Matthew worked in loss prevention at Burlington Coat Factory in Woonsocket, RI, for the past 2 years. Previously, he worked as a correction officer for the Department of Juvenile Justice in Tampa for 4 years, and was the supervisor of security at Sentury Security in Tampa. He enjoyed camping, hiking, riding his bike, lawn work, and anything outdoors. He liked music and going to concerts, and most of all, loved to spend time with his son, Paxton. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the First Congregational Church - United Church of Christ, 355 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, March 4, 2013, from 5-9 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Beland Family Fund, c/o Bank of America, 48 North Washington St., North Attleboro, MA 02760. "Just keep swimming . . . "
