Maryann Friedland

BROOKFIELD - Maryann M. (Wilshire) Friedland, 88, of Fiskdale Road, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband Henry H. Friedland, who died in 2005. She is survived by seven children, Raymond Friedland of West Brookfield, Christine Cary of Missouri, Karen Pankonin of Ohio, Sandra Tebo of Spencer, Joann Karnes of Virginia, Jonathan Friedland of Worcester, and Everett Wilshire of North Attleboro; 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Greene. She was born in Attleboro, the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Mary R. (Desruisseaux) Wilshire, and lived most of her life in Brookfield and West Brookfield. Mrs. Friedland was a nurse's aide at Quaboag Nursing Home in West Brookfield for 10 years, retiring over 30 years ago. She was president of the Foster Association and brought over 500 children into her home during her life. She was a member of the Barre Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and she enjoyed fishing. Memorial calling hours are Monday, May 17, 2010, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, immediately following the calling hours. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
