AUBURN / EDGEWATER, FL - Mary F. Turnblom, 86, of Ash St., died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, FL. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Warren J. Turnblom of Edgewater, FL; five children, Linda McKinstry and her husband Paul of Prairieville, Louisiana, Joan Balkus and her husband William of West Boylston, John Turnblom and his wife Filomena of Concord, NC, Stephen Turnblom and his wife Lisa of Shrewsbury, and Susan Hammond and her husband Todd of Oxford; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late James and Katherine (Kane) Mahoney, and lived in Auburn before moving to Edgewater, FL, 25 years ago. Mrs. Turnblom worked at the Auburn Public Library for many years. After moving to Florida, she was a volunteer at the Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach. She was a former member of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn. Mrs. Turnblom loved the ocean, playing bridge, and going to the casino. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and many close friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Ecumenical Council Food Shelf, 8 Maple Rd., Oxford, MA 01540.
