Webster - Mary (Maccariella) Powers Rock, 78, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2012 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Paul J. Rock, four children, Stephen J. Powers of Marlborough, MA, William J. Powers and his wife Debra L. of Jewett City, CT, Teresa A. Rawson and her husband Jeffrey L. of Oxford, and Judith A. Lochner and her husband F. Theodore of Spencer; eight grandchildren, Christopher J. Powers, James H. Powers, Sarah J. Radford and her husband Nathan, Michael S. Powers, Nicholas J. Rawson, James A. Lochner, Brian M. Lochner, and Andrew T. Lochner; four great grandchildren, Aurora Powers, Jaci Powers, Dominic Radford, and Sawyer Powers; and her brother James E. Maccariella and his wife Zeelia of Marlton, NJ. Mary was predeceased by her first husband of 33 years, James W. Powers who died in 1988 and a brother, Frank Maccariella. She was born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Catherine V. (Harkins) Marccariella. Mrs. Rock was previously employed as a typist at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Philadelphia, PA; a secretary at Clara Barton School in Oxford; a supervisor at Commerce Insurance Co. in Webster; and a secretary at St Roch's Church where she retired from in 2002. Mary was an active parishioner of St. Roch's Church, Oxford where she was the previous recording secretary for the Parish Council, treasurer for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, secretary for the Finance Committee, and involved with the St. Roch Cemetery committee, the Parish Festival and the Parish Harvest Fair. She was a member of Rosary Sodality at St. Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley and St. Pius X Women's Guild, Leicester. She was involved with Cub Scouts and Little League in New Jersey. Mary enjoyed traveling abroad and in her motor home, taking rides on motorcycles, cross stitching, and mostly spending time with her family. The funeral will held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford, with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St, Oxford. Burial will follow St. Anthony's Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Roch Church, 332 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540 or to a charity of one's choice.
