Mary Guy

OXFORD – Mary J. (Saad) Guy, 90, left us a day too soon on Thursday, June 1, 2017, the day before her 91st birthday, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary L. Gogolinski of Webster, Sandra M. Casagranda and her husband Robert of Chicopee, and Brenda M. “Cookie” Dion and her husband Kevin (who Mary thought of as a son) of Oxford; a brother, Harry G. Saad of Dudley; three sisters, Alice “Lou” Saad of Oxford, Anne Naleski of Dudley, and Tina J. Wennerberg of Oxford; three granddaughters, Lori A. Gogolinski, Kim M. Casagranda, and Lynn A. McGrane and her husband J. David; four great-grandchildren, Rylee R. Fulmine, Isabella M. McGrane, Vincent G. McGrane, and Scarlett R. McGrane; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her former husband, John W. Guy; her son-in-law, Carl Gogolinski; nine brothers, Joseph Saad, John Saad, Michael Saad, Napoleon “Nippy” Saad, Anthony “Bobby” Saad, Alfred Saad, William Saad, George J. “Tuta” Saad, and Franklin G. “Sonny” Saad; and four sisters, Elvira J. Sousa, Estelle Jackson, Aurora Saad, and Agnes J. Smolen. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late George J. and Joanna (Monterio) Saad, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.

Mrs. Guy worked at Stevens Linen in Dudley for many years. Previously, she worked at the North Oxford Garneting Mill, which was owned by her father. She loved music, shopping, and phone conversations with her great granddaughter, Rylee.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Life Care Center of Auburn for the exceptional care given to Mary.

At Mary’s request, funeral services will be private. Burial will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overlook Visiting Nurse & Hospice Service, P.O. Box 1000, Charlton, MA 01507.
