Mark Chaput

July 24, 1961 — June 6, 2017

OXFORD – Mark S. Chaput, 55, of Main Street, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, surrounded by loved ones, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his parents, Ernest W. and Lorna N. (Swenson) Chaput of Oxford; three brothers, Gary E. Chaput, David W. Chaput, and Ernest P. Chaput; three sisters, Nancy L. White, Judith L. Tyler, Debra J. Borus; sister-in-law, Caterina Froio Chaput; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and spent most of his life in Oxford, where he graduated from Oxford High School.

Mr. Chaput worked for several area companies in drywall installation and plastering and was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. Mark was an all-star baseball player and a football player in his youth and enjoyed sports just as much as an adult, being an avid Red Sox fan. Mark's biggest joy was his parents and spending time with his family at family gatherings, where he always had the biggest smirk on his face and was always laughing. Mark also enjoyed spending time on Webster Lake where he loved boat rides in the summer.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Mark’s life, held on Friday, June 30, 2017, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. Burial will be private. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
