Marjorie Fyfe

CHARLTON – Marjorie L. (Taft) Fyfe, 94, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles G. Fyfe who died in 1996. She is survived by four children, Stephen D. Fyfe and his wife Mariana of Ashby, Stewart A. Fyfe of Flagstaff, AZ, Susan P. Graton and her husband John of Porterville, CA, and Scott G. Fyfe of Deltona, FL; her sister, Dorothy T. Barre of Charlton; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra L. Fyfe who died in 2006; and a son, Spencer T. Fyfe who died in 2009. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Walter S. and Fronie I. (Adams) Taft grew up in Oxford, and lived in Worcester, Florida and Webster before moving to Charlton 6 years ago. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1940.

Mrs. Fyfe was a member of the First Congregational Church in Oxford and a member of the Clara Barton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a wonderful mother who dedicated her life to caring for her six children. She enjoyed knitting and made many sweaters and afghans throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Overlook-Masonic Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. Burial will be held privately at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
