WORCESTER - Marjorie J. (Wallace) deVillers, 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2014. She is survived by four sons, Frank deVillers of West Boylston, David deVillers of Worcester, Paul deVillers of Spencer, and Robert deVillers of Westerly, RI; three daughters, Jeanne Saad of Oxford, Carole Kemble of Westport, and Marjorie Streeter of Rutland; two cousins, Louise Whittemore and Marion Kane; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her former husband, Ernest R. deVillers, who died in 2001. She was born in Natick, the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (McCormack) Wallace, was raised in Framingham, and spent most of her life in West Boylston and Worcester. She graduated from Framingham High School in 1933. Mrs. deVillers was a nurse's aide at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester, a former Girl Scout leader, and a former member of the P.T.A. Mrs. deVillers enjoyed knitting, music, singing, religion, and the Boston Red Sox. She will be remembered as a sweet, kind person, a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family, and will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Friends are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
