Margaret Terrill

CHARLTON - Margaret E. Terrill, 86, of Hammond Hill Road, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She is survived by her niece and nephews, Dorothy "Dottie" Bergeron of Worcester, John E. Terrill of Charlton, and George A. Terrill of Charlton; grand nephews and nieces, and great grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, John Terrill of Charlton who died in 1991. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late George and Mary Alice (Comer) Terrill, and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. She graduated from Charlton High School in 1942 and the Henry Heywood Hospital Nursing School in Gardner. Miss Terrill was a registered nurse at Worcester City Hospital in Worcester. She was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, retiring as colonel. She was a member of the American Legion Post 391 in Charlton and was very active in veteran's affairs, including placing flags at the cemeteries. Miss Terrill was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton and was a member of the Charlton Grange. She was an avid reader and donated many books to the Jacob Edwards Library in Southbridge. The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Auburn for the wonderful care they gave to Margaret. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Friends and family are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Westridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Friday, May 6, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Life Care Center, c/o the Resident Activity Fund, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501.
