Margaret Shine

June 12, 1918 — February 25, 2007

OXFORD – Margaret E. (Jackson) Shine, 88, of Hillcrest Drive and formerly of Hopkinton, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, in her home after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Albert J. Shine Jr. of Hopkinton, who died in 1975. She is survived by three sons, Harvey A. Shine and his wife Barbara of Oxford, Russell A. Shine and his companion Marcia Stewart of Douglas, and Richard T. Shine and his wife Rosalie of Framingham; a close family friend, Marc Cantin of Upton; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many step grandchildren, and very many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. Shine of Hopkinton, who died in 2000. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Catherine (Robertson) Jackson, and was raised in Newton, lived in Hopkinton for many years and Worcester for several years, before moving to Oxford in 2006. She graduated from Newton High School in Newton. Mrs. Shine worked at Caldor in Auburn and Framingham for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton. Calling hours are Tuesday, February 27, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Massachusetts Chapter, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02154.
