Lynne Prefontaine

DUDLEY – Lynne A. (Suliman) Prefontaine, 56, of Green Street, died on Saturday, November 21, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband of 7 years, Kenneth J. Prefontaine Jr. of Dudley who died in 2002. She is survived by two step children, Jessica M. Prefontaine and Kenneth J. Prefontaine III, both of Oxford; her brother, Douglas M. Suliman Jr. and his wife Patricia of Sherborn; his sister, Dianne M. Person and her fiancé Steven A. Christopher of Shrewsbury; five nephews and nieces, Michaela, John, Thomas, and Joseph Suliman, and Jessica Drake; several cousins, including her cousin and best friend Nancy Carpino of Oxford; and her companion, Daniel Raymond of Dudley. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Douglas M. and Bette Ann (Benson) Suliman Sr., and lived in Oxford before moving to Dudley over 30 years ago. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1977 and attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

Mrs. Prefontaine was a certified nurse’s aide for several local organizations for many years. She loved flower and vegetable gardening and was excellent at cooking and baking. She enjoyed her pet birds and was a fan of Rock and Roll music and Rod Stewart. She was instrumental in helping to raise her niece Jessica, and she was always known as “Nin” to her.

Memorial calling hours are Friday, December 18, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Rd., Lincoln, MA 01773.
