Lucienne Larose

June 12, 1920 — January 15, 2013

OXFORD - Lucienne M. (Vaillancourt) LaRose, 92, passed into the arms of God on January 15, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born in Millbury and moved to Oxford when she was married in Millbury in 1941, and remained happily married for sixty-one years. Her husband, Ernest V. LaRose, died in 2002. She graduated from Assumption School and Millbury High School. She leaves two daughters, Kathleen, wife of Joseph Perry of Oxford, and Karen, wife of James LeClaire of Millbury; nine grandchildren, Donna Blain, Mimi Strzelewicz, James LeClaire, Thomas LeClaire, Patricia Warman, Danielle Sacco, Jennifer LaRose, Matthew LaRose and George LaRose; and eleven great grandchildren. She leaves three brothers, Arsene Vaillancourt of SouthYarmouth, Ronald Vaillancourt of Douglas, and Robert Vaillancourt of Millbury. Besides her husband, she was predeceased in death by her parents, Arsene and Angeline Vaillancourt; two brothers, Maurice Vaillancourt and Francis Vaillancourt; three sisters, Lorraine Witkowski, Nora Mae Dalphe, Gail Rawinski; and one son, Ernest V. LaRose. Jr., who died March 23, 2012. Lucienne was a nursing assistant and physical therapist aide, and was employed at the Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for eighteen years. She was a long time member of St. Roch's Catholic Church in Oxford. She enjoyed knitting and making afghans for her family and baby sets for all her family newborns. She also sewed, crocheted, braided and hooked rugs. She and her husband grew a large garden every year and she canned most of the vegetables. Lucienne will leave us all with an afterglow of smiles. She was so closely knit to all her family throughout her life, opening her door to all those who loved her and who were part of her life. She was blessed with many happy times, laughing times, and bright and sunny days with a large family. She has today crossed over to where her beloved husband, Ernest, greets her with open arms. They were deeply in love and today are reunited once again. What a happy day this is for them. She had been a resident at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge, MA for the last several years. The family wishes to thank Beaumont Skilled Nursing Home and Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center for their excellent care and their sincere friendship to Lucienne during her stay there.
