Louis Paquet

CHARLTON – Louis D. Paquet, 67, of Partridge Hill Road, died Thursday, March 2, 2017, in his home. He is survived by spouse of 25 years, Melanie A. Dunlevy of Charlton; his sons, Louis “Chuck” D. Paquet and his partner Melissa Palana of Barre, VT, Travis S. Paquet and his wife Hilary of East Montpelier, VT, Phillip A. Paquet of Berlin, VT, Robert A. Dunlevy Jr. and his wife Tara of Worcester, and Jonathan M. Dunlevy of Dudley; his mother, Phyllis E. (Blanchard) Painchaud and her husband Richard of Barre, VT; his sister, Cheryl D. Buzzi and her husband Michael of Barre, VT; six grandchildren, Colby Paquet, Emmeline Paquet, Patrick Paquet, Jasper Paquet, Joshua Samaniego, and Logan Dunlevy; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews, including Jim and David Buzzi. He was born in Barre, VT, son of the late Philip L. Paquet, and lived in Charlton for the past 20 years. He attended Chelsea High School in Chelsea, VT, and graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT.

Mr. Paquet was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received his certification as a sharpshooter and served as a radio operator. He was an independent long-haul truck driver for many years. He participated in scouting with Cub Scout Pack 165 in Charlton when his sons were young. He enjoyed researching his family history, genealogy, watching NASCAR, and loved Vermont. He was a dedicated spouse to Melanie, and will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose family meant everything to him.

A military graveside service will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Vermont, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. There are no calling hours. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
