OXFORD – Lorraine A. (Arnold) Raidy, 76, formerly of Wheelock Court, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Beaumont Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Westborough. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Joseph E. Raidy, who died in 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Ann Raidy of Shrewsbury; four sisters, Shirley Cote of Shrewsbury, Beverly Kneeland of Worcester, Lois Mylen of Dudley, and Winefred Vient of Gardner; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Randolph Arnold Jr. and Robert Arnold; and a sister, Rita "Cookie" Johnson. She was born in Leicester, the daughter of the late Randolph L. and Lillian R. (Liberty) Arnold, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1952. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1950. Mrs. Raidy was a bookkeeper at Table Talk Corporation in Worcester for several years. She was also a library clerk at Oxford High School for several years, and volunteered for the job after she was laid-off. She was a member of the Worcester County Extension in Oxford. She will be remembered as a giving person who frequently assisted her elderly neighbors. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007, at St. Paul's Cathedral, 15 Chatham St., Worcester. Entombment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, October 21, 2007, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the UMass Medical School – Multiple Sclerosis Center, c/o Department of Neurology, 55 Lake Avenue North, Worcester, MA 01605.
