CHARLTON – Loretta T. (Baron) Blakney, 78, of Meadowview Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas “Don” Blakney who died in 2013. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Cagnina and her husband Peter of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a grandson, Kristopher Cagnina of Florida; three sisters, Lillian Kaloyanides and her husband Clement of Spencer, Sheila Benway of Charlton, and Deborah Amaral and her husband George of North Oxford; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late Thomas A. Baron and Martha (Wood) Sellers, and lived in Florida, Arkansas, and Massachusetts throughout her life. She graduated from Charlton High School in 1961.
Mrs. Blakney was a homemaker for most of her life, staying home to care for her home and raise her family. She also worked as a machine operator for several years. She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church in Rochdale. She loved crocheting, watching the Food Network on television, and her cat, Anne.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Greenville Baptist Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Rochdale. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Greenville Baptist Church. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
