SPENCER – Lisa M. Carter, 48, of Main Street, died Sunday, April 20, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Marsha L. (Belvery) Prunier and her husband Robert of Cherry Valley; four sisters, Brenda Berthiaume and her husband John of Spencer, Debbie Marrier and her husband William of East Brookfield, Michelle Boquist and her husband Carl of Rutland, and Sherry Similia and her husband Dino of West Boylston; two brothers, Royal Carter of Concord, NH, and Danny Carter of Spencer; her special great-aunt, Thelma “Timmy” Cazeault of Webster; her boyfriend, Jake Killay of Spencer; her close friend, Jen Bullen; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Duane Carter who died in 2019; a sister, Luana Campbell who died in 2022; and a niece, Crystal Campbell who died in 2022.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Earl Carter, and lived most of her life in Spencer. She graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, and received a certificate in hairdressing from Rob Roy Academy.
Lisa was a hairdresser at Great Cuts in Worcester. Previously, she worked at St. Cyr’s Hair Salon in Worcester for many years. She loved her dogs, her Jeep, and spending time at the beach. She will be remembered as someone who had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved making people laugh.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
