Leona Hagenbuch

OXFORD - Leona P. (Durant) Hagenbuch, 86, of Old Howarth Road, died Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Charles C. Hagenbuch of Oxford who died in 2001. She is survived by two children, Gary L. Hagenbuch of Auburn and Gail M. Davis of Oxford; a sister, Marion McIntosh of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Sara Gunasekara and her husband Amrith of California, Justin Hagenbuch and his wife Caroline of Holden, and Alison Hagenbuch of Haiti; a great grandson, Liam Gunasekara of California; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Stanley Durant, Alvan Durant, Millard Durant, Beverly Durant, Eleanor LaPrade, and Corrine Norton; and her son-in-law, Russell W. Davis. She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Alpheus R. and Gladys L. (Ballou) Durant, and lived in Auburn and Leicester before moving to Oxford in 1960. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at North Cemetery, Main Street, Oxford. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank the staff at the Auburn Life Care Center for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Life Care Center, c/o Resident's Activities Fund, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
