Leo Fitton

OXFORD – Leo J. Fitton Jr., 83, of June Street, died Friday, June 29, 2007, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary L. (Halley) Fitton; three children, Kenneth W. Fitton of Oxford, Dennis R. Fitton and his wife Ellen of Webster, and Maureen A. Butler and her husband Anthony of Oxford; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Leo J. and Rita (Gaspie) Fitton Sr., and lived in Worcester and Auburn before moving to Oxford in 1965. Mr. Fitton worked in the maintenance department at Thompson Wire Company in Worcester for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was an avid woodcraftsman. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
