ESCONDIDO, CA – Leanna (Sannella) Tassicker, 80, of Delgado Place, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017, as a result of an accident in Escondido. She is survived by several cousins, Phyllis Wadleigh of Berthoud, CO, Curtis Knowlton of Southington, CT, Nancy (Knowlton) Klodenski of Newburyport, MA, Stephen Annunziata and Beth Sannella of Worcester, MA; and the children of her former husband, Wendy, David, Clair and Roslyn. She was predeceased by her brother, Mark Sannella who died in 1970; and her former husband, Owen Tassicker. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Harriman) Sannella, and lived in Colorado and Cupertino, CA, before moving to Escondido. She graduated from Oxford High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University at Denver.
Mrs. Tassicker worked for the Department of Education in California. Previously, she was a stewardess for Northwest Airlines. She was a homemaker for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Tassicker loved traveling and spent time in Australia. She was active in her church, sang in the choir, and was very well-read. She enjoyed cooking, hiking, nature, visiting botanical gardens, and animal sanctuaries.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
