OXFORD - Lawrence L. Donovan, 79, of Prince St., died Thursday, November 25, 2011, at the Blair House in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Kasmarek) Donovan of Oxford; three daughters, Patricia Dawidczyk and her husband John of Oxford, Susan Manzi and her husband Gerard of Oxford, and Julie Bosowski and her husband Michael of Webster; a brother, Philip Donovan of Oxford; four grandchildren, Maggie Dawidczyk, Abby Dawidczyk, Emily Dawidczyk, and Gina Manzi; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Donovan; a sister, Jane Zidelis; and three brothers, James Donovan, Daniel Donovan, and Joseph Donovan. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Jacques) Donovan, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Mount St. Charles High School in Woonsocket, RI, and attended Becker College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Donovan was an office manager at Kunkel Buick in Webster for 35 years, retiring in 1996. Previously he worked at Haywood-Schuster Woolen Mill in Douglas and Heritage Country Club in Charlton. He attended St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Mr. Donovan was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford and coached American Legion baseball. He enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Celtics and the Yankees. The Donovan family would like to thank the staff at the Blair House in Worcester for their exceptional care and support during his time there. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is assisting with arrangements.
