OXFORD – Kristina Marie (Choate) Graff, 45, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2021, at her home in Oxford.
Krissy was born July 24, 1975, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Retta (Guest) Choate and David Choate. She grew up in Scarborough, Maine, and graduated from McAuley High School in Portland, Maine. Krissy went on to graduate from Anna Maria College in Paxton, majoring in psychology. She met Randy McCarthy there and they married and had two beautiful children, Karlie Marie and Connor Roger McCarthy. She later married John Graff whom she met working in the insurance industry. Krissy worked for over twenty years in disability insurance claims at several companies to include UNUM, SunLife Financial, MetLife Insurance and Symetra Life Insurance Company where she was currently employed as Team Lead.
Krissy loved Maine, especially the beach where she grew up, and was a sun worshiper. She had many close women friends who considered her their sister. Krissy loved the new type of country music, particularly Luke Bryan who she saw multiple times in concert as well as during a trip to Nashville with John. Krissy was a devoted mother, never missing a soccer game or track meet. She instilled in her children a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, a dose of humility and a tremendous love of family, friends and animals. Krissy was very attentive to her parents and was the best daughter who ever existed.
Krissy is survived by her parents, Retta and David Choate, of The Villages, FL; her husband John Graff of Oxford; her daughter Karlie McCarthy and son Connor McCarthy, ex-husband Randy McCarthy, and former mother in law Ginny McCarthy, all of Oxford; her parents-in-law Doreen and Byron Graff of Easton, her little dog Maverick who adored her; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who loved her.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Krissy detested dismal, cold weather so there better be lots of sun and a beach in heaven or she will probably make thunder roll! In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Kristina Marie (Choate) Graff’s name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
