Kazimierz Mazurek

OXFORD - Kazimierz "Kaz" Mazurek, 89, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Gunda L. M. (Schneider) Mazurek of Oxford who died in 1998. He is survived by four children, Ronald L. Mazurek of Millbury, Roman H. Mazurek and his wife Darlene of Ashland, Rolf K. Mazurek and his wife Veronica of St. Could, FL, and Lilly T. Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Millbury; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves his companion Teresa Rybarski. He was born in Kruk, Poland, son of the late Adam and Josepha (Kulakowski) Mazurek, and lived in Oxford since 1962. Mr. Mazurek retired from Johnson Steel and Wire Company in Worcester in 1985. Previously, he worked for New England High Carbon Wire Company in Millbury. He owned his own auto body business for many years. Mr. Mazurek was a member and usher at St. Roch's Church in Oxford for many years. He was a member of the Germania Social Club, where he loved dancing. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and was an avid Red Sox fan. He was a great story-teller and will be remembered as a loyal friend and family member who was always willing to help others. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, July 27, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
