Karen Erickson

OXFORD – Karen E. (Gagliastro) Erickson, 45, of Dana Road, died Monday, September 25, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Brian K. Erickson of Oxford; two children, Paige A. Erickson and Joel A. Erickson, both of Oxford; her parents, Francis A. and Gail F. (Daigle) Gagliastro of Rochdale; her brother, Steven F. Gagliastro and his wife Doreen of Oxford; her mother-in-law, Karen M. Erickson of Oxford; her brother-in-law, Craig R. Erickson of Oxford; her sister-in-law, Tara J. Erickson of Webster; and 5 nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1990 and received her bachelor’s degree from Becker College in 1994.

Mrs. Erickson was a claims representative at National Grange in Auburn for 10 years. Previously, she was a business analyst at Hanover Insurance for 12 years. She participated in the Avon Walk to End Breast Cancer four times. She enjoyed boating, camping dancing, going to the casino, country music concerts, and riding ATV’s. She was a Patriots fan and enjoyed playing soccer and dancing in high school. She loved her friends and family, and will be remembered as a very outgoing and lovable person who enjoyed life to the fullest.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, October 2, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
