June Mitchell

CHARLTON – June (Medd) "Nama" Mitchell, 73, of Oxford Road, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, John E. Mitchell of Charlton, who died in 1999. She is survived by six children, Robert J.E. Mitchell of Charlton, Karen J.P. Mitchell of Oxford, Kitty J.M. Johnson of Marengo, IL, Katrina J.N. Gomes of Charlton, Kimberly J.D. Simmons of St. Marys, GA, and Timothy J.P. Mitchell of Charlton; two sisters, Kate Tricker and Frances Atkins, both of England; a brother, George Medd, Jr. of England; ten grandchildren, Kole Gomes, Stevie-Raye Gomes, Kaeli Gomes, Valerie Gomes, Garret Sanford, Jessica Sanford of Indiana, Andrew Simmons, Sean Johnson, Brianna Johnson, and Blaine Johnson; three great grandchildren, Damien Swenson, Anabelle Sanford, and Kamryn Nourse; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, William Robert Medd, Jr., of England. Mrs. Mitchell was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, the daughter of the late William Robert and Kate (Griggs) Medd, Sr., and moved to Charlton in 1964. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed raising her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2008, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Westridge Cemetery, Charlton. Calling hours are Sunday, January 20, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
