Judith Chickering

OXFORD - Judith A. (Skoglund) Chickering, 66, of Joe Jenny Road, passed away at home on Thursday, August 18, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband of 15 years, Francis A. Chickering of Oxford, who died in 2001. She is survived by three sons, Scott M. Skeean of Oxford, Shawn P. Skeean and his wife Lynn of Oxford, and Shayne E. Skeean and his fiancée Lori Szostakowski of Danielson, CT; her longtime companion, Ed Bernier of Oxford; three step sons, six grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one brother and one sister. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Chester and Thelma (Maston) Skoglund, and lived most of her life in Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School. Mrs. Chickering loved playing cards and visiting Horseneck Beach. She was an avid sports fan, following the Red Sox and Patriots, and above all she enjoyed spending time with her family. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, August 22, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center, Development Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
