Joyce Sampson

MANCHAUG - Joyce A. (Girardin) Sampson, 72, of Main Street, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger O. Sampson of Manchaug; two daughters, Robin A. Sampson of Manchaug and Joey T.R. Vigeant and her husband James of Ayer; her brother, Alfred "Skipper" Girardin Jr. of Webster; her sister, Juanita Girardin of New Mexico; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Alfred and Wanda (Kasierski) Girardin, and lived in Webster, Florida, and Arizona, before moving to Manchaug in 1984. Mrs. Sampson was a licensed practical nurse at Notre Dame in Worcester for 10 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Anne's Church in Manchaug. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Garden of Peace in Webster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting with arrangements.
