WORCESTER - Josephine L. (Pratash) Hardy, 88, formerly of Belmont St., died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at UMass Memorial Healthcare - Memorial Campus in Worcester. She is survived by many nephews and nieces, including her caregiver Barbara A. Moody of Oxford. She was predeceased by four sisters, and Antoinette Rano of Worcester, Mary Gagliastre, Helen Talbot, and Anne Bonovetto, all of Oxford. She was born on May 13, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Thecla (Siusas) Pratash, and lived most of her life in Worcester. Ms. Hardy worked at Scano Bakery and Deli in Worcester for 34 years, retiring in 1996. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 31, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for the Blind, 2 Penn Plaza, Suite 1102, New York, NY 10121.
