Joseph M. Plante

CHARLTON – Joseph M. Plante, 28, of Masonic Home Road, died on Monday, October 23, 2023. He is survived by his parents, William P. and Cheryl A. (Munro) Plante of Charlton; his sister, Sarah E. Plante of Murrells Inlet, SC; his paternal grandmother, Sally A. (Davis) Plante of Charlton; his paternal grandfather, Donald R. (“Joe”) Plante (deceased); his maternal grandfather, Allison K. Munro of Garden City, NY; his maternal grandmother Evelyn E. Munro (deceased); uncles and aunts, Thomas W. Plante of West Palm Beach, FL, Deborah E. Peck and her husband Richard of Mount Pleasant, SC, Carolyn V. Redmond and her husband Frank of Charlotte, NC, Linda E. Apuzzo and her husband John of New Paltz, NY, and Allison K. Munro and his wife Debra of Seaford, NY; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2013, then attended Florida Atlantic University and the Professional Golf College.

Mr. Plante worked numerous years as a pro shop manager and a teaching professional at Heritage Country Club. Previously, he worked at Quaboag Country Club in Monson as The Director of  Golf. He enjoyed music, hiking, camping, golf and his boxer, Dutchess. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many, and will be remembered for his warm personality, big smile, and his embracing hugs.

Calling hours are Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
